Evaluate risks by performing credit and financial analysis of bond contracts. Complete underwriting on new business and renewal contracts. Provide guidance to agents regarding various underwriting information, including cross-selling other company products and services. All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
1. Perform financial analysis, credit analysis, and risk assessment of bond contracts to determine underwriting exposure through the use and interpretation of financial-based computer applications. 2. Complete underwriting on new business and renewal bond contracts. May increase renewal premium by cross-selling additional coverage, products or service. 3. Follow, and be able to research, underwriting rules, guidelines, insurance laws and regulations, and rating manuals. 4. Process renewal form letters, status inquiry reviews, and revisions. Send out supplies, kits, and guides to assigned agents. 5. Provide guidance to agents, and to other departments, regarding various underwriting information. Effectively communicate underwriting decisions and appetite to agents. Reinforce the ease of doing business and franchise value with Selective by meeting or exceeding agent expectations and service quality on a consistent basis. 6. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers. Communicate openly and in a timely fashion. Participate in the development of team goals and work diligently to achieve them. Support all team decisions. 7. Conduct continuous profit and growth analysis by territory and agency as assigned. Monitor premium retention with the use of electronic reporting tools.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Salary range: $52,700.00 - $8,700.00. The actual base salary is based on geographic location, and the range is representative of salaries for this role throughout Selective's footprint. Additional considerations include the candidate's qualifications and experience.
