Job Description

Technical Writer

NXT is looking for a detail-oriented and skilled Technical Writer to create clear and concise documentation for information technology products, services, and processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT and a proven track record of producing high-quality technical documentation for a variety of audiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, developers, and stakeholders to gather information and understand technical concepts related to information technology products and services
  • Develop and maintain a range of technical documentation, including user guides, installation guides, API documentation, release notes, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge base articles
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible, and user-friendly documentation tailored to various audiences, including end users and administrators
  • Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of technical documentation by conducting thorough reviews and validations
  • Keep documentation up to date with the latest product releases, enhancements, and changes, incorporating feedback from stakeholders as needed
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, quality assurance, and customer support, to gather information and ensure alignment on documentation requirements
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in technical writing and information technology
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve documentation processes, tools, and standards to enhance the quality and efficiency of our documentation efforts
  • Provide training and support to internal stakeholders on how to effectively use and contribute to technical documentation

Must Haves – Required Education, Certifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
  • 5+ years of experience as a technical writer
  • Strong understanding of information technology concepts, terminology, and principles
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and engaging documentation
  • Proficiency with documentation tools and software, such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, or similar tools preferred
  • Experience working in an agile development environment and familiarity with agile methodologies and practices
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy, consistency, and quality
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and troubleshoot issues
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
