What To Expect
The Tesla Bot team is seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager to drive the development of robotic hand systems. They will work daily with cross functional teams to define and track scope, development milestones and schedule, validation and deployment plans, and ensure smooth execution through multiple phases of development. This person will be responsible for tracking deliverables, resource allocation, and navigating interdependencies across multiple hardware and software teams. Strong technical skills will be utilized to lead technical reviews, identify and mitigate technical risks, and react quickly to design issues and evolving targets. What You'll Do Collaborate with hardware engineering, design, and software/controls teams to define the scope and objectives of the robotic hand systemDefine and drive tasks to be performed by technical contributorsPrioritize scope and feature lists to build product roadmapDevelop comprehensive project plans, including milestones, timelines, and development metrics across multiple pathways, while accounting for workflow interdependenciesLead the teams through major research and development cycles, with a focus on preparing for mass productionTrack and maintain key component and program metrics including cost, reliability, mass, and performance to scheduleRegularly communicate program status, risks, and opportunities to the executive and programs teamPrepare and present both high-level and detailed progress reports, making data-driven recommendations for course corrections when necessaryIdentify creative ways to overcome obstacles and meet the schedule despite setbacks
What You'll Bring Degree in Engineering field or equivalent experience5+ years experience in technical program management or project leadership, in a robotics fieldTechnical experience with robotic systems is requiredExperience in robotic controls is preferredStrong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to drive technical decisions as an impartial integratorExceptional problem-solving and project management abilities coupled with excellent organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to work within a complex and fluid, fast-paced, demanding work environment

Expected Compensation
$88,000 - $150,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
