Join Our Team as a School Custodian/Groundskeeper: Foster a Clean and Safe Learning Environment!

Full-Time Position available at our Rolling Hills Middle School located in El Dorado Hills.

Work hours are Monday through Friday - 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m./12 months per year

We are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable School Custodian/Groundskeeper to join our team and help maintain the high standards of our school district.

Position Overview

The School Custodian/Groundskeeper plays a vital role in ensuring that school facilities and grounds are well-maintained, clean, and safe for the school community. This dual-role position involves performing routine custodial duties inside school buildings as well as groundskeeping tasks outside. Your efforts will help create a conducive learning environment for students and an inviting atmosphere for staff and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of school buildings and facilities
• Ensure restrooms, classrooms, hallways, and common areas are sanitized and well-kept
• Maintain school grounds, including mowing lawns and trimming bushes
• Assist in setting up and tearing down for school events and activities
• Inspect and report any safety hazards or maintenance needs to the facilities manager
• Support in maintaining the inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in custodial or groundskeeping roles preferred
• Knowledge of basic maintenance and repair techniques and tools
• Ability to operate groundskeeping equipment such as lawnmowers 
• Strong attention to detail and proactive approach to maintenance tasks
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor and outdoor work in various weather conditions
• Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe school environment
