Job Description

We’re looking for an enthusiastic food prep worker who can deliver outstanding results in the kitchen prepping meals for our chef/cook. Your main responsibilities will be to stock, prepare and measure condiments and slice and dice foods. You’ll keep your workstation and equipment clean and follow all required safety protocols. Good organization skills, the ability to take directions well, and to read recipe instructions and labels in English, as well as handle a variety of kitchen equipment, sharp knives, and measuring tools are required. Some experience and an associate's degree are preferred but not required. If you are a positive self-starter who can work with minimal supervision, we want to meet you! • Maintain a clean, organized prep area and workstation at all times, and sanitize equipment after each shift or when we close
• Handle simple cooking tasks such as brewing coffee or tea, preparing soups and reducing sauces, and assisting others in the kitchen when necessary
• Follow instructions for recipes. Read meal charts and labels in English and use the measuring tools correctly
• Prepare recipes using the proper measurements needed for condiments and wash dice, and slice fruits and vegetables, and meats, for the variety of meals we prepare for customers
• Observe all company-required food safety guidelines and protocols in the areas where food is prepared and kitchen equipment is utilized

Qualifications:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, as well as bend, pull heavy items, and stand on your feet for your entire shift
• Experienced in the proper handling of kitchen equipment, sharp knives, and other kitchen tools
• Prefer someone with some kitchen prep experience and associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent, but it is not required
• You should possess the basic knowledge of food preparation and perform these duties with minimal supervision from the head cook or chef
• Able to read recipes, meal charts, and labels and understand directions in English
