Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Part-Time Controller with billing experience to oversee financial operations, manage accounting processes, and ensure compliance with financial regulations. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who excels in financial reporting, billing management, and process optimization. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and experience with billing systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Oversight : Manage accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, and month-end close.
  • Billing Management : Oversee and streamline the billing process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with contract terms.
  • Accounts Receivable & Collections : Monitor outstanding invoices, follow up on payments, and implement strategies to reduce outstanding balances.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting : Assist in developing financial forecasts and budgets to support business decisions.
  • Process Improvement : Identify inefficiencies in billing and accounting processes and implement best practices.
  • Cash Flow Management : Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure financial stability.
  • Compliance & Audits : Ensure adherence to GAAP, tax regulations, and company policies, and support audits as needed.
  • Financial Analysis : Provide insights into financial trends, profitability, and operational efficiency.
  • Software & ERP Management : Utilize and optimize accounting and billing software for improved accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA or CMA certification (preferred but not required)
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on billing and financial management
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
  • Experience with billing software, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or other ERP systems
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a part-time capacity
