Job Title: Virtual Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO)

Required Skills:

• Proven track record as a vCISO or cybersecurity leader for public sector clients, ideally municipal agencies (~600 employees).
• Local government experience strongly preferred.
• Expertise:
• IT governance, risk management, and compliance.
• Security policy development, incident response, and disaster recovery planning.
• Aligning programs with NIST, CIS Controls, and federal/state regulations.
• Conducting risk assessments, compliance audits, and policy implementation.
• Vendor risk management and data protection (e.g., Veeam or equivalent).
• Certifications: CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC, or equivalent required.
• Must demonstrate ability to independently manage the project, coordinate with City IT leadership, and deliver all scope requirements (e.g., cybersecurity assessments, governance model, roadmap).
