Job Description Job Summary: This Buyer II will be responsible for the purchase of components and raw materials to support the logistics and scheduling related to technical management of project schedules and maintenance of products. This includes securing and participating in the development of commodity strategy, sourcing/negotiations, budget execution, and interface with suppliers or internal stakeholders. The Buyer II will also resolve issues with cross functional departments to ensure purchase orders, and supplier performance needs are met effectively. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  Determine order quantities to ensure accurate material supply.  Identify material, service, or supply needs, and place purchase orders for timely delivery.  Investigate and recommend make/buy decisions based on cost analysis against standard costs for purchases and delivery lead times.  Follow up with high priority schedules to ensure timely delivery and completion of orders with internal and external parties.  Manage material utilization and adjust for Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).  Issue complex purchase orders for raw materials and maintain component inventory.  Engage in international supply chain activities to achieve project deadlines.  Create competitive bids for cost reduction activities.  Support complex engineering change controls, maintenance plans, task lists, and new equipment records.  Participate in Supply Chain meetings and activities to achieve department objectives.  Maintain safety standards and adhere to ISO 9000 policies and procedures. Skills and Requirements Qualifications: Required Education & Experience:  Bachelor's degree required in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field, or equivalent additional years of experience.  5+ years experience in a procurement role, preferably in a contract manufacturing environment. Outsourcing experience a plus.  Experience in made-to-order products, with the use of ERP systems. (Epicor a plus)  Proficiency in scheduling projects with a Material Requirement Planning (MRP) system  Experience with ISO 9000 policy and procedures preferred. Skills & Competencies:  Ability to work independently and on a team to meet time sensitive deadlines  Proficiency with purchasing principles, including the ability to research, analyze, negotiate, and close various types of purchase orders.  Proficiency with resolving issues with other departments regarding receipt of damaged goods, short shipments, and documentation discrepancies.  Proficiency with reviewing requisitions for accuracy of technical information, quantity, specification, requisitioner authority, and shipping instructions.  Exposure to international supply chain activities.  Ability to read and write in English to effectively communicate across various media with internal and external customers.  Proficiency in math with relation to cost, inventory, and forecasting functions to organize data sets and suggest improvements.  Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products, with technical experience in excel.  Ability to stand for periods of extended time, sit for extended periods of time, work in front of a computer screen for extended periods null We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
